My name is
Ella – Elderly Helper
Hello! I am Ella or you can call me Ells.
My current position is a care assisant in a very rural village in Lincolnshire; i have worked in this role for 7 months now and i can honestly say i have loved every day and have learnt so much about our superier generation. My main day to day lesson has been understanding my residents dementia or parkinsons disease, each and everyone of them having their different experience with it. I will continue to learn new things about this disease everyday.
I love spending time with the residents and always try to find the time (quite often difficult in a busy home of 30 people and 4 carers!) to sit and speak to them whether it be a giggle or some real talk.
Anyway, about me! I am and definitly always try to be a little bit of sunlight in somebodys day, if theres ever anything i can do to put a smile on someones face, i will be doing it! I absolutley love the outdoors rain or shine, everyday off i will be in a feild somewhere with my dog! (Ozzy, incase you were interested!). I really am a genuinly caring person, my residents always, always come first and i could never leave somebody feeling even slightly unsure.
I do only speak English but would be very interested in learning a new language! (Just bare with me!).
In college i did Health and Social Care Level 2, my interest in elderly care did start then, I much prefer to be in work than education, you learn much better on the job in the real world! In my current job i have done all my training (as seen in my qualifications section) and i have my DBS check.
Please contact me if you have any further questions I would be very interested in hearing and answering them!
Thank you so much for reading.
