We are a family of five (2x 39a, 9a, 6a, 3a) and live downtown of Marburg. Marburg is in the centre of Germany, 1h train ride north to Frankfurt Main. It is said to be as beautiful as Heidelberg.
Both of us work as scholars at the University of Marburg. We are looking for an AuPair that would like to study at the University of Marburg as well and can enroll as student, with which we assist. Taking lectures is possible – as was with our former AuPair, she took three lectures a week. Both our working times are rather flexible. As we both are scholars ([mom] law & philosophy and [dad] geography, informatics, biology & meteorology) we can coach the AuPair initially with study issues.
We are in need of an AuPair as the family’s mom suffered a mild accident, so that she cannot run the household and errands, such as shopping, borrowing books and scanning sources in a library, as she used to. During September the family’s dad will be absent. He is going to research abroad. Though the former was planned, the accident was not, which is why we look for help in such a short period of time – starting in the beginning of September.
We rented a room in a flat of another family (with one child, the parents are actors). This setup worked very well with us and for our former AuPair. The flat is in the adjacent house, so the baby monitor works as well. Thus the AuPair can decide, whether to stay longer in our flat, but can as well retreat to his/her room in the other flat after duty.
We raise our children bilingual, they are fluent in both, German and English. We read a lot, sing and make music. Anvar (9a) plays the violin, chess, Rugby, soccer, reads a lot and is a boy scout. Camira (6a) plays the piano, dances ballet and is a girl scout. She has just started school. Danisha (3a) enjoys going on any kind of vehicle (balancing bike or bike) as well as reading books and singing. All three children are in daycare.
