Require Elderly Help
I am writing this for my father Harold who is 80 yrs old and a widow – he only retired from work 7 years ago. He is described as a gentleman, sociable and loves walking, watching sport, listening to music and gardening. He is always doing something.
He has had a stroke but this has not affected his mobility – he can wash, dress and feed himself. He has no personal care needs. He just gets confused with time and is forgetful. Lockdown and COVID has been difficult for him as he likes to be busy and in the company of others.
He needs some help with shopping and the position will involve some shopping, light housework, making sure he does not leave the house at night and accompanying him on walks if his friends are no available and cooking.
My father has 3 sons. I am the eldest, Neil then there is Ian and Gary. We all make regular visits to his home in the week and he always goes to my brother Ian’s house for his dinner on a Sunday and sometimes on a Friday night.
On as Friday and Saturday night he will attend the local Social Club with his friends as soon as it is open again.
My father lives in his 3 bedroomed own bungalow and has his own bedroom and ensuite shower and toilet. He also has a conservatory and garden
Make sure my father has his breakfast before he goes out to get his morning paper and remind him to take his tablets.
if he needs to go shopping go with him or if he wants to go for a walk.
Just make sure that he does not leave the house at night
