I am Emma (29) and my husband is Jack (29), we have a young daughter, Grace (5months). We live in Batheaston, a suburb of the beautiful city of Bath with our two cats, Rex and Tilly. My husband is currently on Shared Parental Leave until 10th May looking after Grace while I work as a Self Employed Event Manager and running my own Staffing Agency business. We are looking for an au pair to help take a little of the strain of day to day family life for when my husband goes back to work.
We have a 3 bedroom house with a lovely garden. We live in a large village in the area of Bath. We are only 10 minutes from the centre of the world heritage city of Bath which has rail links into London, Bristol and the South West of England. The village has its own school, shop, pub and set next to the River Avon with some beautiful walking/cycling routes along the river and canal system.
Every day is different but daily tasks will include, getting Grace up/dressed and given breakfast, fed and taken for a walk at lunchtime and then ensuring Grace is looked after and stimulated each day in between feeds. Sometimes duties will include putting Grace to bed after a bath and bottle, however this is something we will do as a family 99% of the time. We plan to introduce Grace into a nursery nearby 1 or 2 times a week in September, so walking her to nursery in the morning and collecting her in the afternoon will become a duty when that happens. We will also be introducing Grace in other activities (Baby groups, swimming etc) I plan to take her myself to these groups, but happy for Au Pair to join in socially with other mums and babies. We are looking for a bubbly enthusiastic Au Pair who is willing to engage with a young child and help take care of her while also taking on our parenting ethos in aiding Grace’s development. A big brother/sister type figure. A good use of the English language is required so our communication is clear, especially as Grace will be learning to talk soon. We take care of the night feeds, as she tends to sleep for a good 8-10 hours, but sometimes is up at 7am, so you will need to be fairly good in the mornings. Which is made up by the fact that she’s asleep by 8/9pm in the evening. Experience with young children and babies is a huge bonus.
Not much housework is required other than the kitchen and children’s clothes and play areas. Just keeping surfaces and dishes clean as you use them.
The hours worked will generally by 8am-5pm Monday – Friday but we do ask you to be prepared to be flexible to suit us both as I sometimes work from home so I am able to be around and give you some time off in the week where necessary. We require perhaps 1 evening of babysitting on one of your working days and if we want any babysitting at the weekend we will discuss and agree this with you in advance and give you extra pocket money for these extra hours. Your normal free days will be Saturday and Sunday. Driving is not essential for the daily tasks as we are walking distance from lots of activities. However we are happy to give you lifts to places during your days off.
We will pay you £120 per week for the normal 40 aupair hours and this includes contribution towards other expenses such as collage or local travel. We will pay you £4 per hour for extra hours if we need them. We can provide you with use of a computer in our Study should you require. Your room will have a double bed, wardrobe, TV with on demand and Netflix and use of our WiFi. We also offer a 2 week completion Bonus at the end of your agreed stay with us.
We are looking for someone to be a part of our day to day family life and a support to me in raising our child in both fun activities and daily routine. We are simply a relaxed and laid back family in need of a little help. There may also be opportunities to travel within the UK with us on short breaks if that is of interest.
Every day is different but daily tasks will include, getting Grace up/dressed and given breakfast then ensuring Grace is looked after and stimulated each day in between feeds. Sometimes taken to nursery when she is enrolled.
Grace to be fed and taken for a walk at lunchtime and then an afternoon nap / playtime before we come home from work. Collecting grace from nursery when she starts going in september.
